Requests

I'm seeking requests for places you'd like to see us review. I am willing to review just about any place within a reasonable radius of Binghamton. Ask and you are likely to receive, sometime in the not-too-distant future. Please leave a comment in this thread and I will do my best to accommodate you!

As far as "coming attractions" you can expect at some point or another, I am interested in comparing the three-headed monster of Thai restaurants in the area (Endicott's Thai Basil, Johnson City's Sabaidee, and Binghamton's Thai Thai Cuisine--all of which I've heard are "the best" in the area). I'm also planning reviews of some more lunch places downtown (The Flan Club and Despina's Mediterranean Taste have my curiosity piqued). I'll have to review Theo's Express at some point, have had enough of their eats over the years to write a review without any additional visits, though why wouldn't I want some delicious BBQ? Of course there are some nicer restaurants newer and older that I'd like to get around to reviewing (these might take some time, I'm not made of money) like Lemongrass, sake-tumi, Moxie, Number 5, Lampy's, etc.

We are also planning a "diner tour" of sorts where we review a different diner in the area every weekend. The Triple Cities are certainly not lacking in diner representation and I hope to give the scoop on which to seek out and which to avoid.

Thanks for stopping by and I look forward to hearing any requests or comments!

  1. Hey Dan,

Absolutely love your blog, including the husband and wife format---showed my husband, and we eat out a lot, so this is just very helpful! Wonder if you both have any plans of reviewing Tranquil, near the B-Mets Stadium in Binghamton, and also, Charlie's Bagels on Wash Ave in Endicott. The detail, photos, etc are all great! Thank you! Two big fans...Bernadette and Art

  4. May I suggest Dino's Bar on Conklin Rd. They have the best selection on micro brews in Binghamton. Their food is great too.

  5. Corinne, thanks for visiting!

My friend Tom and I stopped at Dino's for drinks last Friday per your recommendation. Definitely a good selection of beer. Troeg's Mad Elf on tap in the middle of April? Nice! I didn't get food so I'm not going to write up a full review yet, but I'm definitely open to going back again. Just wanted to let you know I checked it out and that I'm thankful for the recommendation!

  6. You should try Mirarchi's in Endwell, their pizza is really good fresh. It has a sweeter sauce on its pizza than most other places, it's good! They also have some really good specialty pizzas, like the lasagna and texas roadhouse pizza.

  7. Love the blog. I find I agree with you most of the time. I am a beer lover also. I recommend you review Amici's Pizzeria (right across from the Met's stadium). Formerly "Frankie's Place", it was completely renovated, and they have an awesome tap list in addition to great food.

  8. Anonymous...we've been to Amici and a review is forthcoming quite soon. Would like to go back one more time before a review happens. Beer list at Amici is certainly above average for the area.

To the other anonymous above...I will try out Mirarchi's sometime soon and let you know what I think!
